When people think about Taste of Evergreen, they usually think about incredible food, and they’re absolutely right. For one evening each September, our community comes together to enjoy the creativity and talent of the restaurants, cafés, breweries, bakeries, food trucks and specialty beverage businesses that make Evergreen such a wonderful place to live, work and visit.
But from where I stand, Taste of Evergreen is about something even bigger. It’s about celebrating the people behind the businesses.
Every bite and every sip has a story behind it. It represents the early mornings, long hours, family recipes, creative ideas, and dedication of local entrepreneurs who have chosen to invest in our community.
In today’s fast-paced world, opportunities to gather around a table, meet someone new, and reconnect with neighbors are more important than ever. Taste of Evergreen is one of those special evenings where food becomes the catalyst for connection. Conversations begin over a favorite appetizer, friendships are strengthened, and new discoveries are made with every tasting.
One of my favorite parts of the evening is watching guests discover a restaurant they’ve never tried, a bakery they didn’t know existed, or a beverage that becomes their new favorite. Just as exciting is seeing our local businesses connect with new customers and share the passion behind what they do. Those relationships don’t end when the event is over. They continue throughout the year as people return to support the businesses they discovered.
Events like Taste of Evergreen remind us why shopping local matters. Every dollar spent at a local business helps strengthen our economy, supports local families, and contributes to the vibrant community we all enjoy. When our businesses succeed, Evergreen succeeds.
Whether you’ve attended Taste of Evergreen for years or this will be your first experience, I hope you’ll join us on Tuesday, September 15 at the Evergreen Lake House. Come hungry, bring your friends, and enjoy an evening that celebrates not only exceptional food, but the people and businesses who make Evergreen such a special place to call home.
Tickets went on sale August 1 and have sold out in previous years, so I encourage you to purchase yours early. Visit evergreenchamber.org for tickets and event details.
I look forward to seeing you there as we celebrate the incredible flavors, talented entrepreneurs, and strong sense of community that make Evergreen truly one of a kind.
