Thank you to all who reached out with nominations for our Mountain Area Women in Business Hall of Fame. Our goal is to recognize those women who have had a profound impact on our community through their work in local businesses and through their volunteerism in our community. We welcome all to join us in celebrating these women at our annual Women in Business luncheon on Thursday, May 12 at Mount Vernon Canyon Club. You can purchase tickets for this luncheon on our website at evergreenchamber.org. New this year, we have added a wine tasting event in the Club lounge for those who wish to continue networking with other business leaders.

Don’t forget that May 3 is our local election day. Board seats at all three of our special districts, Evergreen Fire, Evergreen Metro and Evergreen Parks & Recreation, are all being decided by the community. It is not too late to meet the candidates for the Evergreen Metropolitan District at a candidate forum on April 26 from 5:30 – 7:30 pm at the Elks Lodge at 27972 Iris Drive. Since each special district runs their own elections, you will need to visit all three sites to cast your ballots. If you wish to vote in person, voting will take place on May 3 and will be open from 7 am to 7 pm.

The locations for in-person voting for each are as follows:

EFR: Bergen Fire Station, Administration Building at 1802 Bergen Parkway

EMD: Admin Office 30920 Stagecoach Boulevard

EPRD: Buchanan Park Recreation Center at 32003 Ellingswood Trail or Wulf Recreation Center at 5300 South Olive Road.

Ballots for these elections are NOT being mailed to your home unless you specifically request it. If you wish to receive an absentee ballot for any or all three of these elections, reach out to each special district by April 26 to have that sent to you:

EFR: evergreenfirerescue.com. There is an alert at the top of the page where you can access the absentee ballot request form

EMD: evergreenmetro.colorado.gov. On the home page, the first photo on the top of the page links you to the election information.

EPRD: evergreenrecreation.com. There is an alert at the top of the page where you can access the absentee ballot request form.

In each of these elections, there are more candidates than there are openings. Contested elections are a positive thing for our community. Now it is upon us to exercise our right to vote. Each of these websites has information on the election process and the candidates seeking your support.

Plan to join us at any of our upcoming events. The Evergreen Chamber has all the details for each event and registration is available for each one under the “Events” tab on our website. We look forward to welcoming our community to involve everyone. Follow Evergreen Chamber on
