Taste of Evergreen has been moved to Tuesday, October 5. It will still be hosted at the Evergreen Lake House with VIP open from 4:30–5:30 pm and general admission from 5:30–8 pm. Our restaurants have been in the tough position of having a lower number of staff but high volume of patrons during the summer months. This date change allows them to breathe before taking on this event that we all enjoy. Tickets are still available at evergreenchamber.org. When we think of how lucky we are to live and work in this community, it is an event like Taste of Evergreen that makes us realize how special of a community Evergreen is.

“Success isn’t about how much money you make, it’s about the difference you make in people’s lives.” —Michelle Obama

Making a difference in people’s lives both personally and professionally is what many of our local businesswomen are known for. Success breeds success and we are fortunate in our mountain community to have a large group of female businesses owners, directors, managers and more who consistently work together to help each other succeed. At the Evergreen Area Chamber of Commerce, it is our mission to grow our local economy and build business relationships, and it is our pleasure to recognize and celebrate that success.

Once again, the Evergreen Chamber is proud to host the annual Mountain Area Women in Business Awards and Hall of Fame Inductions. We invite you to join us Thursday, October 21 at Mt. Vernon Canyon Club at 11:30. The event will sell out, so please buy your tickets online at evergreenchamber.org. The cost is $45 for members and $55 for not-yet members.

Join a group of amazing women business owners and managers and enjoy an elegant meal, network with other career-focused women and hear about the importance of a woman’s voice in the political process from Representatives Lisa Cutter and Mary Hadfield. This will be a balanced presentation not focused on politics, but on the role women can play in changing the political culture. Thank you to Lutheran Medical Center/SCL Health for being our Title Sponsor and thank you to Evergreen Gallery for sponsoring our speakers.

The Mountain Area Women in Business Hall of Fame nominations are well underway. Nominations closed on September 10; visit our website to see who has been recommended for the Women in Business Hall of Fame. The requirements were that the nominee be a part of the Evergreen Chamber, has been in business for at least five years and served on at least two nonprofit boards. Our nominees are considered not only successful in business but successful in mentoring others. The inductees will be announced at the luncheon on October 21. Their names will be added to the plaque that hangs in the Chamber office. Thank you RPM Agency for sponsoring our Hall of Fame Awards. Our 2019 Inductees were Rita Felde, Kay D’Evelyn La Montagne, and Gail Sharp.
