Evergreen Lake Welcomes Witches and Warlocks, October 20
An enchanting spell will be cast over Evergreen Lake on Sunday, October 20 when costumed paddleboarders take to the water from 9:30 am–2 pm. This fun float event is family-friendly and will feature a variety of vendors and seasonal activities, including a costume contest.
Registration is $35 for attendees who bring their own paddleboards. Paddleboard rentals are available for $45. Children 8 years old and younger can take part for free. MMAR Hosts October 24 Boo Bash for PeaceWorks
The Mountain Metro Association of Realtors invites you to a fun Halloween event with live music by The Wrecklunds to raise funds for PeaceWorks, a nonprofit that provides services to survivors of relationship violence. The Boo Bash takes place on Thursday, October 24 from 5-9 pm at Snowpack Taproom Underground at 11863 Springs Road in Conifer. PeaceWorks is a nonprofit that assists survivors of relationship violence, including domestic abuse, teen dating violence, stalking, sex trafficking and assault. BOOgie Bash Benefiting Resilience1220 Set for October 25 at The Wild Game
Put on your costume and slide into your dancing shoes for the October 25 BOOgie Bash featuring one of Denver’s preeminent dance bands, Wash Park. Doors open at 5:30 pm at the Wild Game with musician Tyler Phillips taking the stage.
Wash Park features three dynamic vocalists, a four-piece horn section, five-piece rhythm section and a choreographed show highlighting the hits from the ’70s to today. The group has performed at events for the Denver Broncos, Colorado Avalanche, Fortune 500 companies, weddings and numerous fundraisers.
In addition to rocking tunes, there will be a contest with prizes in the categories of best overall, most original, scariest, and best couple’s costumes. Presented by Boogie Benefits, Inc., the BOOgie Bash proceeds will aid Resilience1220, a nonprofit that provides free counseling services to youth 12-20. Through individual counseling, support groups and community outreach, R1220 seeks to raise awareness of social, emotional, and mental health issues that can lead to suicidal thinking among teens. You and Your Pets Are Welcome at the EAPL Zombie Race October 27
A local Halloween tradition, the Evergreen Animal Protective League (EAPL) Zombie Race takes place on Sunday, October 27 from 10 am-2 pm. Beginning at Buchanan Recreation Center Ball Fields, the 5K will take runners and walkers through Bergen Park and its trails, finishing at the starting point. Post-race festivities will include refreshments, music, and costume contests for runners and pets.
A single registration is $30, and registration packages are available with proceeds benefiting EAPL. Online registration is available until October 25 at bit.ly/4eQwlDT. The EAPL was organized in 1981 to aid lost, abandoned, and suffering animals through rescue, shelter, and education. Since that time, the League has provided a better life for thousands of cats, dogs, and other pets.
Evergreen Downtown Merchants Host Trick-or-Treat on Halloween
Superheroes, Disney characters, dinosaurs and witches take to main street during the Downtown Evergreen Halloween Walk on Thursday, October 31 from 4-6 pm. Merchants open their stores to welcome costumed kids with a sweet treat or two in keeping with the All Hallows Eve tradition. Popular with parents, it’s a fun, relaxing late-afternoon event which leaves plenty of time for trick-or-treaters to make a few more stops before they turn into “pumpkins.”
Wild Aware Offers Free Presentation on Coexisting With Wildlife
Wild Aware presents “Living in Harmony: Respectful Coexistence With Wildlife,” a free community event on Thursday, November 7 from 6:30–8 pm at the Evergreen Fire/Rescue Auditorium, 1802 Bergen Pkwy. The gathering will feature a panel discussion with Vicki Vargas-Madrid representing Denver Parks & Recreation, Mary Ann Bonnel of Jefferson County Open Space, and Jacob Sonberg from Colorado Parks & Wildlife. They will discuss human/wildlife conflicts, real-life experiences, and tips for living in greater harmony with wildlife.
