The first full month of summer beckons us to be outdoors as much as possible, soaking up the sun, taking in scenic views, and enjoying mountain town gatherings with our favorite people. The summer of social events and fundraisers has just begun!

Celebrate a Family-Friendly Fourth of July

A hometown Independence Day celebration is in the making as the Evergreen Chamber of Commerce and Evergreen Park & Recreation District present The Foothills 4th from noon – 8 pm at Buchanan Fields.

This new event is designed as a fun-filled day which includes carnival games, live music, a log rolling competition, and a bike parade where kids of all ages can decorate their cycles for a trip around the grounds. Other highlights will be a live wood-carving demonstration, food trucks and a beer garden, and performances by community groups.

The price is family-friendly, too, with online tickets for $5 each at evergreenchamber.org and evergreenrecreation.com. Tickets purchased at the gate are $15 each.

At press time, musical performances included The Chris King Band, AztroGrizz, Magoo, and Eric Golden. The event title sponsor is Lifetime Windows & Siding. Title stage sponsor is Best Custom Homes, and the Little Bear is the beer garden sponsor. For updates, go to evergreenchamber.org.

ConiferFest 2024 Returns July 13

The Rotary Club of Conifer is presenting its 5th Annual ConiferFest July 13 to raise money for local charitable causes supported by the Rotary foundation.

The event runs from 11 am – 8 pm and will feature food trucks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and a full line-up of live music. Who’s Thomas, The Midday Sons, Iron Roots Band, and Double Life – A Tribute to the Cars will take the stage and keep the audience dancing. The presenting sponsor is 5280 Exteriors and the stage sponsor is Lifetime Windows & Siding.

Some of the charitable causes that will benefit include the 285 Backpack Project which provides summer weekend meals and snacks for children who otherwise would depend on their school meal program, scholarships for high school students, and nonprofits seeking community grants from the foundation.

ConiferFest will be held at Our Lady of the Pines open space, 9444 Eagle Cliff Road, with the backdrop of Berrian Mountain. Attendees are asked to bring their own chairs. Parking is free. Tickets are $5 for participants 12 and older, with free admission for children under the age of 12. For tickets, go to ConiferFest on eventbrite.com.
