The monthly historic segments to celebrate Evergreen’s 150th Anniversary continue on May 3 at the old warming hut at Evergreen Lake for a presentation on Dedisse Park and the Evergreen Lake area from noon – 2 pm. Mark the first Saturday of the month on your calendar through October so you do not miss any of these gems. In addition to the monthly events, each focused on a different part of our community, there will be a large community event on the evening of Thursday, July 3 at Buchanan Park. Plan to join us for an immersive historical experience to learn more about this place we all call home. This evening, named Illuminate the Past, will conclude with a beautiful hot air balloon glow.
If you are interested in celebrating the sesquicentennial with some fun swag, we have t-shirts, hats, coasters, magnets and stickers all available for purchase at our offices. We will have them at some of the festivals this summer as well. One last item available is commemorative coins. We have these available in three separate finishes: an antique gold, copper, and a black coin with white ink. These are beautiful pieces that will be wonderful keepsakes.
Start Making Your Plans for July 4 Now!
Last year, the Chamber brought back July 4 fun with an event called Foothills Fourth. This event will return with MORE fun for this year. What does MORE look like? This year, you can start your day with the chance to see Evergreen like never before from inside the basket of a hot air balloon tethered to the ground but floating high up in the sky. More also means a fun way to close out the evening with an Evergreen drone show! Add in all the “regular” fun of two goat yoga sessions, a kids’ bike parade, great music all day long, a log rolling competition, games for kids and adults, and wonderful food and drink options including a commemorative locally brewed beer. So set your plans now to stay in Evergreen for July 3 and 4 where a good time will be had by all!
