Evergreen will once again be a great place to be on July 4th. Once you finish the Mount Evans 5K, join Evergreen Park and Recreation and your Evergreen Chamber of Commerce for old-fashioned fun for the whole family at the Buchanan Ball Fields from noon to 8 pm. Kids: decorate yourself and your bikes for the holiday and join us for a bike parade around the Buchanan ponds for fun prizes. Then, the whole family can enjoy live music and short performances by local community groups on the “Home Sweet Home” stage. There will be carnival games, a beer garden for the over 21 crowd, and enjoy watching master carvers take tree trunks and carve them into beautiful masterpieces. You will then be able to vote on your favorites and place bids on them when they are auctioned! And did I mention a log rolling contest? Yup, fun for the whole family.
