“I was nervous at first going to someone in our small community, but Brenda is awesome,” said a new client to Medical Aesthetics. “She takes things at a comfortable pace, is super detailed in her approach, and is very discreet. I couldn’t be happier, and I love the results!”
As Medical Aesthetics celebrates its 25th year in business, owner Brenda Cumming, RN continues to receive rave reviews from her clients—those new to her services and those who have been visiting her practice for decades.
“I am truly overwhelmed by the fact that we have been in business for 25 years,” says Brenda, a registered nurse and aesthetic nurse specialist. “When I started in Evergreen, there was a stigma around injectables, and no one wanted to admit to getting Botox. Now things have changed so much that people openly talk about their Botox treatments and compare notes. It’s unbelievable how far we’ve come.”
“We are discerning with the recommendations we make. As a result, we are respected, and our clients are loyal.”
According to Brenda, Botox, in particular, has become widely accepted, partly because of its cosmetic benefits but also due to its use in addressing medical issues like bladder control, excessive sweating and chronic pain.
Setting a High Bar for Safety
With more than 35 years of experience as a registered nurse in emergency room, critical care and urgent care practice settings, Brenda makes patient safety a priority. She educates her clients that it is a misconception to think it does not matter where a client goes to receive Botox injections and microneedling.
Brenda also educates her peers. “I am an instructor, and I teach doctors, nurses and dentists about ‘injectables,’” she says. “I’ve had the pleasure of training doctors from Montana, Texas and Kansas, and many others from across the country who travel to shadow me. In the end, I want practitioners to be knowledgeable and to achieve great results for their clients.”
“While risk is minimal, it still exists when someone is delivering injections. Being in the hands of a trained practitioner has instilled confidence in our patients,” she says. Brenda’s team includes Holly Vali, a family nurse practitioner and doctorate of nursing who teaches at Regis University; Gwen Howard, a 13-year member of the practice who is a licensed esthetician specializing in laser treatments; Kate Brockman, patient coordinator who has experience managing healthcare offices, and Dr. Jonathan Gallen, anesthesiologist, medical director, and the practice’s collaborating physician.

A new collaboration with Dr. Samir Hasan, a board-certified plastic surgeon and diplomat of the American Board of Plastic Surgery, promises to expand the menu of services offered by Medical Aesthetics. Clients may soon have the chance to book minor surgical procedures without the need to go down the hill.
A Customized Care Plan for Each Client
“What is the first thing you see when you gaze into the mirror each morning?” is the key question Brenda asks her first-time clients. Once a patient lists their issues, she suggests treatment options, beginning with a skincare regimen, and then recommends a tiered approach to aesthetic enhancements.
“Practicing professional skincare at home followed by professional laser or chemical peels is the place to start. Injectables such as Botox, filler and threads are icing on the cake,” she says. “Botox slows the development of lines that come with age, injected fillers create volume, and threads help lift the skin in millimeters for some temporary tightening. We also offer so many other skin enhancement treatments that rejuvenate the skin.”
“I went to Brenda early in her practice when she treated patients in Lakewood,” says realtor Jill Samuel. “I had adult acne and Brenda helped me with a care plan and coordination with a dermatologist. I’ve been going to her on a regular basis ever since, driving from Sloan’s Lake to Evergreen for aesthetic treatments. I appreciate that she is a conservative injector.”
Brenda’s clients, including a sizable contingent of men, realize they have a choice when it comes to how to handle the signs of aging. “Many people are not ready to retire at a prescribed age. Some are focused on remaining competitive in the job market, and some are just starting romances later in life. We want them to feel and look their best. Our biggest compliment is when people tell our patients ‘you look good’ and they don’t know why.”
Standing by Results: Accountability Is Key
“Everybody in this town is my billboard, and represents Medical Aesthetics’ brand,” says Brenda. That’s why we take what we do so seriously. We are discerning with the recommendations we make. As a result, we are respected, and our clients are loyal.”
“As busy as she is, Brenda always remembers little details,” says Samuel. “The Medical Aesthetics team’s customer service is outrageously awesome!”
