Boogie at the Ranch to Feature Music by Hazel Miller
Boogie Benefits, Inc. will present its annual Boogie at the Ranch on Saturday, August 23 from Noon-6:30 at the Nelson Ranch, 5388 S. Elk Ridge Road, Evergreen. Event proceeds will benefit Active4All, the charitable partner of the Evergreen Park & Recreation District. Monies raised at the Boogie are earmarked to help fund the construction of a permanent stage in Buchanan Park.
The day of music begins with “Making Music with Friends,” from 12:30-2 pm featuring John Erlandson and special guests. Band Kamp takes the stage from 2:30-4 pm followed by headliner Hazel Miller & The Collective from 4:30-6:30 pm. There will be food available for purchase from The Colorado Creamery, Bistro Del Lago and Chi-Town Stop food trucks. Parking is free.

Colorful Colorado Inspires the Mountain Resource Center’s Gala
The Mountain Resource Center’s Annual Gala, Colorful Colorado, is designed as a vibrant evening celebrating community, resilience, and the beauty of the mountains. The September 11 event runs from 5:30-8:30 pm at Mount Vernon Canyon Club, 24933 Club House Circle in Golden. The outdoor “Colorful Colorado” gathering under the stars will feature an upscale dinner, live entertainment and exciting auctions—all in support of MRC’s essential programs that empower individuals and families across our region. Guests are encouraged to arrive in their best Colorado-inspired attire.

Joy International’s Festival to Raise Funds to Fight Child Trafficking
The JOY of Freedom Festival, hosted by JOY International, will be held on Saturday, September 13 from noon until 3 pm at Buchanan Park. The event is a celebration of freedom, community and impact, furthering JOY International’s mission to fight child trafficking.
The afternoon will offer live music from local performers along with global song and dance, a free taco bar provided by the Marshdale General Store, plus tastes from each country where JOY operates. There will be interactive exhibits, including family-friendly games and crafts, and a “walk around the world” to learn more about JOY’s efforts in the United States, Uganda, Nepal and Belize.
A silent auction will feature a variety of goods, services and experiences. All donations and sponsorships help fund JOY International’s mission to bring freedom, healing, and empowerment to child survivors of trafficking.

Evergreen Fire/Rescue Hosts Health & Safety Day
Families are invited to participate in the free Health and Safety Day September 20 from 8 am-2 pm at the Bergen Park fire station, 1802 Bergen Parkway.
The day begins with a free pancake breakfast from 8-10 am followed by the opening of dozens of interactive and educational booths, many with giveaway items promoting health and safety. Youngsters will have the chance to touch a fire truck, and there will be engine and bucket rides for added fun.
