The owners of Preservation Tree Care, Matt and Adena Shepayo, are passionate about being the premier tree company in the front range. That passion extends to every aspect of their business—from their highly qualified team to the thoughtful way they approach every job, as well as to their dedication and service to the community.

Matt, as a talented, well-known arborist, started the company in Englewood in 2003. Adena brought her own mix of experience—as a wildland firefighter in her early 20s, and as a business owner—to the venture in 2012. Together they expanded the company to Evergreen in 2018. They have made it a priority to educate the community about wildfire mitigation, as well as to nurture the health and beauty of trees and enrich properties.

Preservation Tree Care’s company culture values education and training. Their team members bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to every job. Three staff members are Tree Risk Assessment Qualified, six are Certified Arborists and three are Qualified Supervisors for the Colorado Department of Agriculture. Their team can identify tree health, structure and risk.

One of their core values is to “leave it better than we found it.” With that in mind, they do everything to educate their clients, knowing that if their clients have the knowledge, they can make the best decisions for their property. “We build long-term relationships and do quality work. It’s just that simple,” said Matt.

Preservation Tree Care services include:

—Structural Pruning

—Planting

—Plant Health Care (improving tree health and treating pests and disease)

—Fire Mitigation

—Tree Removal

—Consultations with an arborist to increase property value, improve the health of the forest, or to maintain the safety of your home.

Preservation Tree Care works with residential and commercial properties, government entities and HOAs.

Matt and Adena believe their team is their most important asset. “We put a lot of time into hiring, and pass over many applicants. They must be very skilled and meticulous in what they do, or be trainable to hit those standards. Our guys have an amazing work ethic and stand for our company values daily. Together as a team, we make a company we are all proud of,” said Adena.

For the Shepayos, everything comes down to doing the right thing because it’s the right thing to do—another one of the company’s core values. One of the ways Preservation Tree Care supports the community each season is by picking an organization in need. This year they will participate in Saluting Branches, providing volunteer tree and landscape care at Fort Logan National Cemetery for U.S. veterans and families. With Adena’s love for cooking, they enjoy participating in The Big Chili Cook-Off, benefitting local firefighters. They also make and deliver food to the homeless around the holidays. They call these give back days! Preservation Tree Care is a member of the Evergreen Area Chamber of Commerce.
