The coming weeks are typically the sweetest slices of summer—more daylight, warmer temps, and opportunities to enjoy outdoor activities with family and friends. Fundraising moves outside, too, with mountain vistas, rolling hills and sunshine setting the scene for the important mission of supporting our local nonprofits.

Mountain Foothills Rotary Hosts Annual Golf Tournament July 13th at Hiwan
Mountain Foothills Rotary Club, in partnership with Evergreen Park & Recreation District, is hosting its annual Andy Smith Senior INSPIRE Golf Tournament on July 13 on the exclusive Hiwan Golf Club course. The outing benefits several nonprofit causes: the
EPRD INSPIRE program, Resilience1220, Crutches4Africa and other programs supported by Mountain Foothills Rotary Foundation.
There are still spots open for individual golfers, foursomes and tournament sponsors. Foursomes will utilize a scramble format, so players of any skill level can contribute to the team. Players will receive a goodie bag, including a golf hat and sleeve of balls. Everyone will have the chance to participate in multiple on-course contests. Golfer check-in begins at 7 am with an 8 am shotgun start. After the tournament, there will be a luncheon with prizes for the winners and a raffle. There will also be a silent auction featuring sports memorabilia.
The mission of the Evergreen Park & Recreation District’s INSPIRE Program is to contribute to the growth and development of people with developmental disabilities and their families. It provides opportunities to participate in community activities, recreation, leisure and cultural programs as well as activities to build daily living skills. These programs and services help prepare persons who are disabled to become as socially, emotionally and intellectually independent as possible.
Resilience1220’s mission is to provide free counseling services to youth ages 12-20 in the mountain communities west of Denver. Through individual counseling, support groups and community outreach, they work to raise awareness of the social, emotional and mental-health issues young adults face, and to provide necessary life skills to create wellness and resiliency in their lives.
The Foundation of Mountain Foothills Rotary is a not-for-profit corporation that receives contributions and distributes funds in support of approved community, humanitarian and educational activities.
Crutches4Africa collects used and surplus mobility devices, ships them to developing countries, and distributes them for free to people with physical mobility challenges regardless of their race, gender, tribe, age or religion.
