This will be the 15th year the Rotary Clubs of Evergreen and Conifer have partnered together to present the premier home and garden show in the Denver area foothills. This year’s Foothills Home, Garden & Lifestyle Show, formerly known as the Mountain Area Home & Garden Show, will be presented April 9 and 10 at Conifer High School.

Thanks very much to 2022 Show Director and Conifer Rotarian Janine Payton for the valuable contribution of this article:

It takes over 75 volunteers to transform the local high school into a place where attendees will find home improvement companies, outdoor living specialists, health and wellness experts, local artisans, community nonprofits, and so much more.

Rotarians are also very excited about their presentation of Wildfire Readiness exhibitors and presenters.

Evergreen Rotarian Cynthia Latham is presenting a variety of experts to educate the community on ongoing preparedness efforts and strategies which locals can follow to improve their wildfire readiness. Seminars throughout the weekend will include how to improve your home’s chances of surviving a wildfire, and tips and advice about preparing for possible evacuation orders. Detailed information can also be found on RotaryWildFireReady.com.

Presentations on aging in place, because we all want to stay in our beautiful mountains, along with some fun and informative presentations will fill the seminar schedule for both days.

Thanks to Title Sponsor Lifetime Windows & Siding; Gold Sponsors Mountain Hearth & Patio, 5280 Exteriors, Aerus/L&L Systems, and Gravina’s Window Center of Littleton; plus Silver Sponsor Valor Roof and Solar, the Show provides attendees an opportunity to directly connect with local and regional professionals to see products and presentations, receive answers to questions, set appointments, and to find inspiration to help you with your home projects. Interacting with local business professionals, artisans and nonprofits makes the Show unique to the foothills and live up to the tagline ‘By the community; for the community.’

Through their attendance, show visitors will also participate with the local Rotary Clubs of Evergreen and Conifer in their fund-raising efforts for charitable causes across the foothills and beyond. Over the past 14 years, more than $250,000 has been raised and donated back to the community.

Beneficiary grants from the Conifer and Evergreen Club Foundations in the past include nonprofit organizations such as EChO (Evergreen Christian Outreach), Mountain Resource Center, Peaceworks, Mount Evans Home Health Care & Hospice, RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards Camp-funding and scholarships), Mountain Backpacks and the 285 Backpack Project (in which volunteers distribute weekend food to children in local schools), Imagination Library (books for children), the Seniors Thanksgiving Luncheon, Diversity Day at Evergreen High School, Staunton State Park track chair program, and funding for numerous college scholarships and grants.

In addition to the funds raised at previous shows, hundreds of pounds of food have been donated by show attendees for both EChO and Mountain Resource Center food pantries. Everyone bringing two or more non-perishable food items for MRC or boxes of granola bars or pudding cups for the 285 Backpack Project gets free admittance to the Show and saves on the $5 ticket charge. Thanks also to Los 3 Garcias, your Home Show ticket will include a coupon for a free margarita or an entrée!

Come early and come hungry as there will be baked goods and coffee available from the Conifer Interact Young Rotarians. Slife’s Devil Dogs food truck will also be onsite at the high school for lunch items and take-home meals.
