Colleen Butler heads up CLUB: Conifer Lobos Unified Boosters. She has a working team of 10 and an entire community of parents, fans, supporters, athletes and involved local businesses behind her.

CLUB has been supporting the school, the teams and the athletes for six years. Of course, 2020 has been an extremely challenging year for CLUB, as it has been for the entire community: every student, athlete and parent.

The school and the community may be “distancing,” but the fundraising to support the kids is unrelenting in CLUB’s efforts to improve facilities and build infrastructure at the fabulous athletic fields at the beautiful high school on the hill.

What is next?

The Annual Great Outdoors Virtual event will be presented on October 29 and 30!

The format has changed for this extraordinarily successful event. After several years of the community enjoying wild game feasts and refreshments at sold-out indoor events, this year will be different. This year, the gathering will be, unsurprisingly, in front of computer screens in the safety of our homes. But with a fun twist!

This year will feature an unveiling of silent auction items on display for personal inspection at The Woodlands Event Center at 8884 US HWY 285 on the evening of October 29. Visitors will be allowed “sneak peaks” and to submit early bids for the prizes on display. Happy Hour viewing begins at 4 pm and extends until 6:30 pm (bring a business card for drawings) and will be COVID-19 compliant.

The bidding will continue up until 9 pm on October 30.

Prizes are still being added. The selection at press time includes time, respectively, at condos in Mexico, Beaver Creek, and Breckenridge, a rifle, dinner gift certificates skis, skateboards and artwork.
