There is so much uncertainty as families and students are planning to go back to school. This obviously has a huge impact on our community and our workforce. The Conifer Chamber of Commerce is teaming up with our community educators to create solutions for families as we walk through the fall school schedule. Together, we are looking to provide support for families. At the end of July, we sent out a survey to the community. From the information collected, we have  created a resource guide. This guide is available at GoConifer.com and will include places to go if you need reliable internet, options for educational support for students working online, options for POD learning groups, and places for students to go during the day if parents need to go to work. In addition, there is a recording of the town hall meeting with local educators and before/after care providers. We understand this is a difficult time and we are right there with you! We also understand that when a community pulls together, amazing things can happen. If you have resources that can help or know of someone that does, please reach out to [email protected]. We are happy to include your information in our resource guide.

In addition to creating a resource guide for families, the Conifer Chamber has been hard at work connecting businesses to funding sources. Most recently, the Energize Colorado Gap Fund that will provide more than $25M in small business loans and grants is one example. This is open to sole proprietors, businesses and nonprofits with less than 25 full-time employees. Those eligible can apply for up to a $15,000 grant and a $20,000 loan for a possible combined total of $35,000 in financial assistance. Log on to GoConifer.com for details and a link to apply.

Have you turned in your game card for the Summer Scavenger Hunt? The hunt continues through August 31 and there are still fantastic prizes to WIN! The Conifer and Evergreen Chambers teamed up to encourage the community to get out and shop local. Prizes have been donated by our local businesses and include gift cards to local restaurants, gift baskets, wine, and a gorgeous wreath from Southern Lilies Florist. To participate, just download one or both of the game cards at GoConifer.com or EvergreenChamber.org. Then, stop by any of the participating businesses and find the fox hidden somewhere at the location or on their website. Each fox has a code listed under the “What Does the Fox Say?” bubble. Find at least 15 codes and turn the cards into the Chamber office and you’ll be entered into a drawing to win various prizes. While you are out looking for the foxes, do some shopping and support our local businesses!
