Are you getting ready for the holidays? You might be shocked to see holiday decorations in stores even earlier this year. Businesses are preparing for the onset of early holiday shopping with 19 percent of people planning to shop earlier for the holidays over last year (MorningConsult.com). In addition, 57 percent of people said they will primarily shop online (MorningConsult.com). The great news is most businesses in our community now offer online shopping, phone ordering, curbside pickup and/or shipping. All of that is to say, this is the best year to shop local. It is so easy to find unique gifts for your special someone AND support a local business. To make it even easier, the Conifer Chamber is putting together a Holiday Gift Guide. This guide will break down the local retail stores, home-based and online stores as well as give you gift suggestions! The gift guide will be available online at GoConifer.com the beginning of November. If you’d like to add your business to the Holiday Gift Guide, go to GoConifer.com by October 30 to fill out the participation form. There is no cost to members and only $50 for non-members to participate. The downloadable guide will be free to the community! Just log on, download and shop ’til you drop!

The Conifer Chamber is continuing to research and advocate for our business community. By connecting businesses to grant and alternative funding opportunities, we are focused on partnering with our members and guiding them through this rough time. First, Jefferson County has opened a PPE Supply Grant that will fund from the CARES Act. There is a short application process and the application is available at bit.ly/30FDz9y.

Second, the Jefferson County Business Task Force that I attend is working to provide grants for home-based businesses and to reopen the Jeffco Sustainability Grant. Sign up for the Conifer Chamber newsletter at GoConifer.com and get the latest information so you know when these grants become live.

At the November Monthly Membership Meeting, we will be hosting an Economic Summit. Senior Economist David Hansen with Development Research Partners will be providing an economic update and forecast. This event will be held on Friday, November 12, from 8-9 am online. All are welcome to attend. Log on to GoConifer.com to register and receive the meeting link. Later that month, the November After-Hours Mixer will be a Turkey Toss Corn Hole tournament at Woodlands event center on Thursday, November 19. As you can see, the Conifer Chamber is the place to be to connect to the community and grow your business.
