I recently had the privilege of speaking at an Evergreen Rotary Club meeting about the State of Conifer. As I reflected on our community’s progress, I realized there are exciting developments many people may not be aware of. That’s what inspired this article! While there’s so much happening in Conifer, I want to highlight three major projects that will have a lasting impact: the new Conifer Library, the Beaver Ranch Park improvements, and the Kings Valley & US Hwy 285 interchange upgrade.
A Library for the Future
A brand-new standalone library is coming to Conifer, creating a modern space for learning, creativity and connection. Located in the Safeway shopping center, this long-awaited facility will offer expanded resources, updated technology and engaging programs for all ages—from storytime for kids to workshops for adults. With extended hours, study rooms and group meeting spaces, the library will be a true hub for the community. Stay tuned as we get closer to celebrating this incredible addition to Conifer!
Beaver Ranch Park: A Recreation Destination
A beloved outdoor gem, Beaver Ranch Park is a go-to spot for year-round recreation. Managed by Beaver Ranch Community, Inc. and Jeffco Open Space, the park is set for some exciting upgrades! Soon, visitors will enjoy a new accessible playground, expanded parking, a dog park, and miles of scenic trails for hiking, horseback riding and mountain biking. These improvements will make Beaver Ranch Park an even more valuable resource for residents of Conifer, Evergreen, Indian Hills and beyond! A Safer, Smoother Commute
Big changes are coming to US Hwy 285 and Kings Valley Drive, with a grade-separated interchange project set to begin in 2026—if funding comes through. This project will elevate US Hwy 285 over Kings Valley Drive, allowing vehicles to safely pass underneath to make left turns—eliminating dangerous crossings and improving traffic flow. Designed to enhance safety and efficiency, this much-needed upgrade will make commuting smoother and safer for everyone traveling along the Highway 285 corridor.
