Medical Aesthetics has built its reputation on serving clients with a commitment to safety, customized care, and thoughtful innovation. Its 26-year track record reflects more than longevity—it speaks to an ongoing dedication to achieving client results with an integrated approach which combines aesthetics, wellness, and health priorities.
Experience Counts
At the heart of Medical Aesthetics is a team of trained professionals led by registered nurse and owner Brenda Cumming, who has more than 35 years of experience including key roles in Critical Care, Trauma, Post-Surgical and Urgent Care. She is joined by Dr. Holly Vali, a board certified family nurse practitioner and founder of Valiva Health, L.L.C., and Gwen Howard, licensed esthetician and certified aesthetic consultant.
“We make product integrity and patient safety our top priority.”
CME4Health Women’s Care, LLC led by Nurse Practitioner Mary Lou Hendriks, works in conjunction with Medical Aesthetics to offer a full range of services for women aged 40 and older. With a 30+ year background, Hendrix provides evidenced-based consultation and treatment for hormone health, sexual health, and other issues related to menopause and aging.
A Growing Interest in Injectables
Injectables are growing in demand and acceptance. Clients continue to explore options ranging from Botox and dermal fillers to anti-inflammatory treatments and weight loss. One of the latest innovations offered by Medical Aesthetics is PRP (platelet-rich plasma) injections. This treatment involves a small blood draw (similar to a standard lab test) using an Illuminate PRP medical device, which quickly spins the blood to separate platelets from plasma, and is then heated to a gel and reinjected to the thickened plasma as a natural filler. “Clients love our Illuminate PRP,” says Cumming. “It is a natural alternative to dermal fillers, it is in a gel form, and it is especially effective under the eyes and in the cheeks.”
While Botox continues to gain acceptance, especially through testimonials and promotion on social media, Cumming cautions consumers eager to buy product online. “It is important to know the origin of the products you are injecting,” says Cumming. “The proliferation of Botox and fillers has led to them being available on the black market, sometimes from other countries with low standards for quality. We make product integrity and patient safety our top priority.”

Staying at the Forefront of Cosmeceuticals
Medical Aesthetics offers a full line of cosmeceuticals, skincare products containing bioactive ingredients that have both cosmetic and physiological benefits. One of its newest offerings is the REGEN PDRN line from Lira Clinical. These cosmeceuticals, in serum and crème formats, use wild salmon DNA and peptides to promote skin regeneration and hydration, enhance elasticity, and target fine lines, redness and inflammation. As founder and board member of Lira Clinical—an international skincare company recognized for elevating standards within the cosmeceutical industry—Cumming empowers her clients to experience the benefits of a science-based approach that integrates natural ingredients to achieve long-lasting results. Cumming emphasizes, “Improvements to your skin start with a professional skincare line. It is 80 percent of your success in managing healthy, vibrant skin as you age.”
Younger Clients and Men Creating New Client Demographics
While the medical spa community grew from a client base of mature women, Cumming reports that demographics have shifted in a significant way. Social media posts and testimonials have increased awareness and reduced stigma. “Younger adults are choosing proactive care by establishing healthy skincare habits and becoming better educated about self-care before age-related issues become evident,” she says.
As attitudes toward aesthetic treatments continue to evolve, more men are exploring options that help them feel more confident as they age. Having a positive self-image inside and out is important as men stay in their professions longer or reenter the dating scene in mid-life.
Cumming adds that her clients are very savvy about self-care and wellness. “If we’re working with you on the outside, chances are you’ll feel better on the inside,” she explains. “Our approach is completely confidential and comprehensive, and we will not over treat. My patients are my billboard.”
