As mask mandates are lifting and businesses are opening back up, we as a community can celebrate! Together, we made it through one of the most challenging times in recent history. It has been our honor at the Conifer Area Chamber of Commerce to help our local businesses and individuals find resources when they needed assistance. We connected people together through online networking activities and welcomed visitors as often as possible. It is always inspirational (but never surprising) to see our community work together. Now, we are excited about what this summer offers!
We are incredibly fortunate to have many options for recreation and entertainment. Maybe you want to go for a hike with the family and then enjoy a delicious meal at a local restaurant, or perhaps you are looking for a romantic night away from home. Conifer and the 285 Corridor offer options for everyone! Our local businesses offer just about every good, service or experience you need to enjoy your free time without a trip down the hill. Outdoor activities, dining and shopping are a few of the many reasons why the 285 Corridor is the place to be.
With all the opportunities, it is important to remember that our community is part of the Urban Wildland interface. This means we share our backyards with bears, deer, elk, foxes and even the occasional mountain lion or moose! It also means our risk of wildfire is more significant and potentially dangerous than other locations. So please, enjoy the beauty, but do so responsibly and respectfully.
So, what does the summer of 2021 hold? We are glad you asked! Restaurants are open, camps are in full swing for kids this summer, and we cannot wait to have visitors from around Colorado and the world come through town.
Elevation Celebration is back! Did you know this event originally started as ConiFair in 1997? Although it has seen some changes over the years, we cannot wait for this summer’s event! July 24 and 25 will be a fantastic opportunity to gather with live music on two stages, entertainment and activities for kids, delicious food and drinks, along with informational and artisan vendors. We are excited to welcome locals and visitors alike to this annual celebration. And do not miss the Elevation 5K Run/Walk that is set to kick off the weekend! Visit our website for more information on this great community event.
The Conifer Area Chamber board of directors is in the process of hiring a new executive director. Melanie Swearengin is already missed, but her dedication and work for our community will live on for years to come! She is still an active member of our community, so make sure when you see her to thank her for her work during COVID and in the years leading up to it.
